Historique
La maison des Chevaliers, située à l'intérieur des anciens remparts, a été construite au 13e siècle. Elle est caractérisée par une série d'arcades superposées formant double galerie, unique en Provence. Deux corps de logis perpendiculaires sont desservis par un escalier hors oeuvre dans une tourelle d'angle. De cette période subsistent des caves voûtées. A la Renaissance, édification d'une double galerie contre la façade est. La maison est divisée et vendue à partir de 1665. La partie nord devient la maison commune ou hôtel de ville, la partie sud est occupée par des familles et la galerie est utilisée comme halle. La partie hôtel de ville est fortement remaniée entre 1838 et 1843. Seule la tour d'angle est conservée, abritant un escalier en vis. La façade sud sur la rue Pujade est rhabillée autour de 1740 et traitée en hôtel classique avec portail monumental.

History
The House of the Knights, situated within the old ramparts, was built in the 13th century. It is characterised by a series of superimposed arcades forming a double gallery, unique in Provence. Two perpendicular dwelling blocks are served by an external staircase in a corner turret. From this period vaulted cellars remain. At the Renaissance, a double gallery was built against the east façade. The house was divided and sold from 1665. The northern part became the common house or town hall, the southern part was occupied by families and the gallery was used as a market hall. The town hall part was heavily altered between 1838 and 1843. Only the corner tower is preserved, housing a spiral staircase. The south façade on rue Pujade was refaced around 1740 and treated as a classical hôtel with monumental portal.
