Jardin conçu entre 1919 et 1939 par le Major Lawrence Johnston (1871-1958) , célèbre paysagiste actif en Angleterre, créateur en 1907 du jardin d'Hidcote Manor dans les Cotswolds et du jardin de Sissinghurst dans le Kent (1930). Son jardin d'hiver à Menton, aménagé autour d'une ancienne ferme agrandie, était destiné aux plantes rapportées d'Extrême-Orient ou d'Afrique. History
Garden designed between 1919 and 1939 by Major Lawrence Johnston (1871-1958), celebrated landscape designer active in England, creator in 1907 of the garden of Hidcote Manor in the Cotswolds and the garden of Sissinghurst in Kent (1930). His winter garden in Menton, laid out around an enlarged former farm, was intended for plants brought back from the Far East or Africa. It is characterized by a dense intertwining of indigenous and imported species invading the structure of the garden. A restoration programme was begun in 1994 to save the buildings and the main follies.
