La construction de l'abbaye fut commencée en 1236 sur ordre de Blanche de Castille, qui y a été enterrée ; l'abbaye est rattachée à l'ordre cistercien en 1244. L'église fut détruite en 1794. La grange aux dîmes est une construction du 13e siècle de forme rectangulaire qui conserve une charpente de même époque à chevrons portant fermes. Le bâtiment du réfectoire comprend une série de salles voûtées sur croisées d'ogives. Le pont a été construit à la fin du 18e siècle.

History
The construction of the abbey was begun in 1236 on the order of Blanche of Castile, who was buried there; the abbey was attached to the Cistercian order in 1244. The church was destroyed in 1794. The tithe barn is a 13th-century construction of rectangular form which retains roof structure of the same period with rafters supporting trusses. The refectory building comprises a series of vaulted rooms on rib vault crossings. The bridge was built at the end of the 18th century.
