Historique
Le château de Juvigny fut reconstruit en 1702-1704 selon les plans de Robert de Cotte. La laiterie, implantée au rez-de-chaussée du pavillon de l'aile sud, présente un intérêt certain. Elle a conservé ses dispositions du 18ème siècle avec les bancs, les tablettes latérales et la voûte appareillée. Le parc est également digne d'attention. Entourant le château, il fut, dans un premier temps, dessiné sous la forme d'un jardin à la française : un parterre central avec deux parties latérales à couvert et des tracés d'allées réguliers. L'actuel jardin a conservé, dans sa partie nord, cette disposition ainsi que le lieu de l'ancien potager. Le reste du jardin fut agrandi et modifié en jardin «à l'anglaise» en 1805. Une vaste pelouse aux contours irréguliers remplaça le parterre et les sentiers de la partie sud du couvert furent aménagés en circuits de promenade sinueux. L'orangerie fut, quant à elle, reconstruite en 1856.

History
The château of Juvigny was rebuilt in 1702-1704 according to the plans of Robert de Cotte. The dairy, located on the ground floor of the pavilion of the south wing, presents certain interest. It has retained its 18th century arrangements with the benches, the lateral shelves and the ashlar vault. The park is also worthy of attention. Surrounding the château, it was, initially, laid out in the form of a French garden: a central parterre with two lateral covered sections and regular paths. The present garden has retained, in its northern part, this arrangement as well as the location of the former vegetable garden. The rest of the garden was enlarged and modified into an "English" garden in 1805. A vast lawn with irregular contours replaced the parterre and the paths of the southern part of the covered section were laid out as winding promenade routes. The orangery was, for its part, rebuilt in 1856.
