The Finnish Heritage Agency's description

Merikarviajoen Lankosken pohjoispuolella olevan Lankosken kylän rakennuskanta viestii 1800-luvun puolivälissä alkaneen teollistumisen ja puutavarakaupan tuomasta vauraudesta.

Kylä muodostuu Isotalon, Erkintalon ja Heikintalon tiivistä, arkkitehtuuriltaan edustavasta kokonaisuudesta. Päärakennukset on rakennettu 1800-luvun puolivälin jälkeen. Talojen ympärillä on Merikarvialle tyypilliset hyvin leveät ja korkeat kiviaidat. Lankosken vesivoima on mahdollistanut kylälle vaurautta tuoneen teollisuustoiminnan. Antti Ahlström aloitti myöhemmin laajaksi kasvaneen teollisuustoiminnan Lankoskelta. Ahlströmiin liittyvä Isotalo on suojeltu rakennussuojelulailla.

Uusi maantie siltoineen on jättänyt vanhan tien kylätieksi, jonka varrella on vanha kaksiaukkoinen kivestä holvattu silta. Sillan kupeessa on Lankosken vanha kivirakenteinen mylly.

Teollisuusmies Antti Ahlströmin teollinen ura alkoi Lankoskelta.

Kaksiaukkoisen kivisillan rakensi Maurits Tuorila 1887. Uusi silta valmistui 1960, jonka jälkeen vanha jäi pois käytöstä ja museosillaksi.

The building stock of Lankoski village, north of Merikarvia, reflects the prosperity brought by industrialisation and the timber trade, which began in the mid-19th century.

The village is made up of a compact and architecturally representative group of Isotalo, Erkintalo and Heikintalo. The main buildings were constructed after the mid-19th century. The houses are surrounded by very wide and high stone walls typical of Merikarvia. The waterpower of Lankoski made possible the industrial activity that brought prosperity to the village. Antti Ahlström later began an industrial enterprise at Lankoski that grew to considerable size. Isotalo, associated with Ahlström, is protected under the rakennussuojelulaki.

The new road with its bridges has left the old road as a village road, along which stands the old two-arched stone-vaulted bridge. Beside the bridge is the old stone-built mill of Lankoski.

Lankoski's first residents are recorded from the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. By the middle of the 18th century there was already a sawmill and a mill at the rapids. Behind the mill stood Satakunta's first industrial plant, a small paper mill built in the 1840s.

The industrial career of Antti Ahlström began at Lankoski. Through marriage, Antti Ahlström became master of Isotalo in the village of Lankoski, Merikarvia, in 1850. Besides farming, the farm had a sawmill, a flour mill, an earthenware factory and a small paper mill at Lankoski.

The two-arch stone bridge was built by Maurits Tuorila in 1887. The new bridge was completed in 1960, after which the old bridge went out of use and became a museum bridge.
