Kuvaus
Isokarin majakka- ja luotsiyhdyskunta on hyvin 1800-luvun merenkulun rakentamista kuvaava kohde.
Isokari rakentuu majakkamiesten pihapiiristä ja luotsikylästä. Majakka ja varsinainen satama ovat luotsikylässä. Rakennuskantaan kuuluu alun toistakymmentä asuinrakennusta, joista seitsemän on 1800-luvulta.
Uusi 1965 rakennettu luotsiasema on luonteva osa rakennuskantaa. Majakanvartijoiden asuinrakennukset on suunniteltu Intendentinkonttorissa ( C.L. Engel, A.W. Arppe).

Description
The Isokari lighthouse and pilot community is a site that very well illustrates the maritime construction of the 19th century.
Isokari consists of a lighthouse keepers' yard and a pilot village. The lighthouse and the actual harbour are in the pilot village. The building stock includes originally about a dozen residential buildings, seven of which date from the 19th century. The cylindrical brick lighthouse is coated in concrete, and the building is painted with red and white horizontal stripes. The lighthouse was probably modelled on the Tolhubin Lighthouse off Kronstadt. The lighthouse now operates as an electric automatic lighthouse.
The old pilot house of Isokari was built in 1857 and is one of the best-preserved in Archipelago Sea. The new pilot station built in 1965 is a natural part of the building stock. The lighthouse keepers' residential buildings were designed in the Intendentinkonttori (C.L. Engel, A.W. Arppe).
Most of the building stock of the Isokari village environment is owned by the descendants of the pilots. The boathouses have been built according to old tradition, repaired as needed and rebuilt. On the shore rock can be seen water-level marks carved by the pilots.
History
After 1809 it was decided to build a lighthouse on Isokari to guide the new sailing route around Sweden's archipelago from Ostrobothnia to the Baltic. The lighthouse tower was designed by pilot major Gustaf Brodd and it was built in 1831-1836. Other buildings were also built in connection with the lighthouse in the early 19th century. The lighthouse was lit when the survey and marking of the new fairway were completed in 1838. The lighthouse received its present form and was raised by six metres in the 1890s.
