The Finnish Heritage Agency's description

Pihlavan kartano on muodostunut Pihlavan kylän vanhalle kylätontille.

Vanhempi sijaitsee kartanon ohittavan maantien varressa. Punaiseksi maalattu rakennus on ollut alun perin pohjaltaan paritupainen. Uudempi empiretyylinen asuinrakennus on keltaiseksi maalattu ja pilasterein koristettu. Lisäksi pihaa reunustaa aittarivi 1700-luvulta. Koivukujan reunustaman tien varrella on aitta vuodelta 1803. Purettu kivinavetta ja toinen talousrakennus sijaitsevat miespihan pohjoispuolella.

Pihlavan kartano sijaitsee osin valtakunnallisesti arvokkaalla Aurajokilaakson maisema-alueella.

Pihlava manor has developed on the old village site of Pihlava village. It is located, surrounded by cultivated fields, on the upper reaches of the Aurajoki river, near the junction of the medieval-origin Varkaantie and Huovintie roads.

The manor courtyard includes two well-preserved main buildings of log construction with saddle roofs, located at an angle to each other. The older one is located along the road passing the manor. The building painted red was originally built on a paritupa plan. The newer Empire-style residential building is painted yellow and decorated with pilasters. In addition, the courtyard is bordered by a row of granary storehouses from the 18th century. Along the road bordered by a birch avenue is a granary storehouse dating from 1803. A demolished stone cowshed and another farm building are located north of the men's yard (miespiha).

Pihlava manor is partly located within the nationally significant Aurajokilaakso landscape area.

Pöytyä was still in the 13th century part of the back country of the inhabited areas of Finland Proper. The parish had 30 villages in 1556, with 91 farms in them. In 1540 there were four farms in Pihlava: Pohjala, Setälä, Makkara and Rekola. The farms were old rälssi estates and from the late 17th century belonged to Vanhakartano in Yläne as augmentations, that is, auxiliary farms. The farms were combined into Pihlava manor in 1838. In the 1850s-1860s, the rälssi farms Fyry and Kuuppa from Paju village were added to the manor; they too had been owned by Vanhakartano from the 17th century onwards.
