The Finnish Heritage Agency's description

Niemen kartanon kokonaisuus on arkkitehtonisesti korkeatasoinen 1800-luvun alun kartanokulttuurin edustaja, joka sijaitsee maisemallisesti erittäin edustavasti Äimäjärven länsipohjukassa, Sittalan ja Taljalan hyvin säilyneiden kylien välissä, laajan viljelysaukean ympäröimänä.

Niemen kartanon pihapiirissä on päärakennuksen lisäksi useita yhtenäisen suunnitelman mukaan rakennettuja tiilisiä talousrakennuksia. Kartanon kaksikerroksinen, valkeaksi rapattu päärakennus, joka on valmistunut 1820-luvulla A.L. Granfeltin aikana, on tyypillinen myöhäisempirekartano keskirisaliitteineen, kolmiopäätyineen ja rustikointeineen. Kartanon kiinteä sisustus on niin ikään empireleimainen. Kirjastohuoneen seinämaalaukset esittävät lehteviä maisemia ja arkkitehtuurinäkymiä, tanssisalissa on kuvattu illusorinen hammaslista. Rakennusten ympärillä levittäytyy vanha puisto huvimajoineen ja tulotie on koivurivien reunustama.

Taljalan kylän pitkästä asutushistoriasta kertovat rautakautiset kalmistot. Yhtenäinen, melko tiivis kylämiljöö kapeine kujineen sijaitsee Äimälänjärven luoteispäässä. Vanhan kylätontin kohdalla on säilynyt kolme pitkänomaista talonpoikaistaloa, lisäksi perinteistä rakennuskantaa on mm. Ranta-Seppälässä, jonka vanha pirtti on 1700-luvulta. Kylän perinteisen myllypaikan rakennukset ovat 1900-luvun ensimmäiseltä puoliskolta. Perinteistä tiiviyttä kylään tuovat maattomien asuinalueet pienimittakaavaisin rakennuksin Rauhalantiellä ja Koskitiellä.

Niemen kartanon ja Taljalan kylän kulttuurimaisema on osa "Sääksmäki - Tarttila" - nimistä valtakunnallisesti arvokasta maisema-aluetta.

Niemen kylässä oli 1560-luvulla kolme taloa. Niemen kartano on muodostettu 1500-luvun lopulla neljästä Kristina Hornille lahjoitetusta tilasta. Vanhin asuintontti on sijainnut ns. Vanhalla niemellä puolisen kilometriä länteen nykyisestä, jolle talouskeskus siirrettiin 1820-luvulla. Päärakennuksessa tehtiin 1930-luvulla huomattava korjaustyö ja 1980-luvulla järven puoleiseen julkisivuun lisättiin pilareiden kannattama kuisti ja altaani.

Pihapiirissä sijaitseva puinen konttorirakennus on 1700- ja 1800-lukujen vaihteesta. Tiilinen viljamakasiini on 1830-luvulta. Talouspihan puolella sijaitsee vanha väentupa sekä tiiliset karjasuojat ja talli 1870-luvulta. Puistoa varten tehdyt Bengt Schalinin suunnitelmat ovat peräisin 1920-luvulla.

Taljalan kylä on varhaiskeskiajalta. Uuden ajan alkupuolella, 1560-luvulla, kylässä oli seitsemän taloa.

The Niemi manor complex is an architecturally high-quality representative of early 19th-century manor culture. It lies in a very representative landscape setting at the western end of Äimäjärvi lake, between the well-preserved villages of Sittala and Taljala, surrounded by a wide cultivated clearing.

In addition to the main building, the Niemi manor yard contains several brick outbuildings built to a unified plan. The manor's two-storey main building, rendered white, was completed in the 1820s during the time of A.L. Granfelt. It is a typical late Empire-style manor house, with a central risalit, triangular pediments and rustication. The manor's fixed interior is likewise Empire in character. The wall paintings of the library room depict leafy landscapes and architectural views, and in the ballroom an illusory dentil cornice is painted. Around the buildings lies an old park with pavilions, and the approach road is lined with birch rows.

Iron Age cemeteries tell of the long settlement history of Taljala village. A coherent, fairly compact village environment with narrow lanes is located at the north-western end of Äimälänjärvi lake. On the site of the old village plot, three elongated farmhouses have survived. Traditional building stock also includes, among other things, Ranta-Seppälä, whose old pirtti dates from the 18th century. The buildings of the village's traditional mill site date from the first half of the 20th century. Traditional density is brought to the village by residential areas of landless people with small-scale buildings along Rauhalantie and Koskitie.

The cultural landscape of the Niemi manor and Taljala village is part of the nationally significant landscape area named "Sääksmäki - Tarttila".

In the 1560s, the village of Niemi had three farms. Niemi manor was formed at the end of the 16th century from four holdings donated to Kristina Horn. The oldest residential site was at the so-called Vanha niemi, half a kilometre west of the present one, to which the farmyard centre was moved in the 1820s. The main building underwent considerable repair work in the 1930s, and in the 1980s a porch supported on pillars and a basin were added to the lakeside facade.

The wooden office building in the courtyard dates from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. The brick grain storehouse dates from the 1830s. On the farmyard side are the old väentupa, as well as brick cattle shelters and a stable from the 1870s. The plans for the park by Bengt Schalin date from the 1920s.

The village of Taljala dates from the Early Middle Ages. In the early modern period, in the 1560s, the village had seven farms.
