Kuvaus
Palikaisten kartanomaisemassa näkyy 1800-luvun suurmaanomistus. Maisemaa hallitsevat laajat ja tasaiset viljelyaukeat ja kartanolle johtavat puukujanteet. Uusimpana kerrostumana kartanomaisemassa on viljelyaukean reunoilla sekä sen halki johtavan tien varressa useita jälleenrakennusajan tiloja.
Palikainen sijaitsee Painionjärven länsirannalla Paimiojoen suulla. Järveen pistävällä niemellä sijaitsevan Palikaisten kartanon alue on puistomainen. Päärakennus on rungoltaan 1800-luvun alkupuolelta ja laajennettu nykyiseen varhaisempireasuunsa 1800-luvun keskivaiheilla. Kartanokokonaisuuteen kuuluu neljä muuta asuinrakennusta. Puutarhurin asunto vuodelta 1938 on arkkitehti Jarl Eklundin suunnittelema.
Historia
Entisen Somerniemen alueella sijaitseva Palikaisten kartano muodostettiin 1678 Anders Munckin 1626 rälssiksi ostamista Palikaisten kylän tiloista.

Description
The 19th-century large-scale landownership is visible in the manor landscape of Palikainen. The landscape is dominated by extensive, flat cultivated fields and avenues of trees leading to the manor. The most recent layer in the manor landscape consists of several reconstruction-era farms along the edges of the cultivated field and along the road running across it.
Palikainen is situated on the western shore of Painionjärvi, at the mouth of the Paimiojoki. The area of Palikainen manor, on a promontory jutting into the lake, is park-like. The main building dates in its frame from the early 19th century and was extended to its present, earlier Empire-style appearance in the mid-19th century. The manor complex includes four other residential buildings. The gardener's residence from 1938 was designed by architect Jarl Eklund.
On the promontory of Hirsjärvi lies Österkulla, which belonged to Palikainen manor until 1905. The Empire-style main building of Österkulla was completed in the 1830s and extended in the early 20th century. The farmyard includes a cowshed and a bakehouse from the 1910s, designed by architect Jarl Eklund and completed in 1928.
History
Palikainen manor, located in the area of the former Somerniemi, was formed in 1678 from farms in the village of Palikainen, which Anders Munck had purchased as a rälssi in 1626. Somerniemi received its name from Munck, who was ennobled as af Sommarnäs. The present main building was evidently built in the early 19th century and was extended in the mid-19th century with a wing building and two porches.
No general partition (isojako) was carried out at Palikainen, and the first crofter's farm, Österkulla, was separated from the manor only in the early 20th century. In the first half of the 20th century, 22 farms were split off from the manor lands, most of which were former crofts.
