Kuvaus
Lokalahden 1700-luvun puukirkko kuuluu lounaissuomalaisiin pitkäkirkkoihin, joita on rakennettu 1600-luvulta vielä 1800-luvulle. Nykyisen asunsa se on saanut lääninarkkitehti G.Th. Chiewitzin suunnittelemana 1800-luvun puolivälissä.
Lokalahden kirkko on muodoltaan torniton pitkäkirkko, johon liittyy kolmisivuinen kuoriosa. Kirkkosalin tynnyriholvin yllä on säilynyt vanhempi lautaholvaus. Kirkkosalin kiinteä sisustus on lääninarkkitehti G.Th. Chiewitzin suunnittelemasta korjauksesta.
Erillinen, vanhakantainen kellotapuli lienee rakennettu 1600-luvulla. Se on kauttaaltaan paanutettu. Nykyiseen asuunsa se on uusittu 1700-luvun alkupuolella. Kirkkomaata ympäröivä kivimuuri periytyy vuoden 1833 kirkkomaan laajennuksesta. Hautausmaalla on Jussi Vikaisen Sankaripatsas sekä 1917-1918 kaatuneiden muistopatsas. Suomen sodan aikana 17.-18.9.1808 käydyssä Lokalahden taistelussa kaatuneiden sotilaiden hauta-alue on kirkkoa vastapäätä tien toisella puolella.
Historia
Lokalahti mainittiin Vehmaan kappelina jo 1490, ja vuosisadan lopulla seurakuntaan rakennettiin ensimmäinen kirkko. Omana seurakuntanaan Lokalahti toimi 1639-1690 ja uudelleen vuodesta 1930 lähtien.
Tapuli rakennettiin nykyistä kirkkoa edeltäneen, 1639 valmistuneen kirkon yhteyteen. Tapulia uusittiin 1655 ja nykyasunsa se sai 1728. Lokalahden nykyinen kirkko rakennettiin 1763 rakennusmestari Johan Höckertin suunnitelmin. Kirkon ulko- ja sisäasun yksityiskohtiin tehtiin muutoksia 1859-1862 korjauksessa, jonka suunnitteli lääninarkkitehti G.Th. Chiewitz.

Description
The 18th century wooden church of Lokalahti belongs to the southwestern Finnish long churches, which were built from the 17th century into the 19th century. It received its present appearance in the mid-19th century, designed by provincial architect G.Th. Chiewitz.
The Lokalahti church is a towerless long church in form, to which a three-sided chancel is attached. It is the third church of the parish in order, and it was completed under master builder Johan Höckert. The saddle roof is high and steeply pitched. The vestry and the armoury project from the nave, lower and narrower than it. Above the barrel vault of the church hall, an older boarded vault has survived. The fixed interior of the church hall dates from the repair designed by provincial architect G.Th. Chiewitz.
The separate, old-fashioned bell tower was probably built in the 17th century. It is entirely pantiled. It was renewed to its present form in the early 18th century. The stone wall surrounding the churchyard dates from the 1833 extension of the churchyard. In the cemetery stands the Sankaripatsas (Hero Statue) by Jussi Vikainen, as well as the memorial statue to those who fell in 1917-1918. The grave area of the soldiers who fell in the Battle of Lokalahti, fought on 17.-18.9.1808 during the Finnish War, lies opposite the church, on the other side of the road.
History
Lokalahti was mentioned as a chapel of Vehmaa already in 1490, and at the end of the century the first church was built in the parish. Lokalahti functioned as a parish in its own right in 1639-1690 and again from 1930 onwards.
The bell tower was built in connection with the church that preceded the present one, completed in 1639. The tower was renovated in 1655, and it received its present appearance in 1728. The present church of Lokalahti was built in 1763 to designs by master builder Johan Höckert. Changes to the details of the church's exterior and interior were made in the 1859-1862 repair, designed by provincial architect G.Th. Chiewitz.
