The Finnish Heritage Agency's description

Kivikartanon pihapiirissä on vesitornirakennus 1890-luvulta. Santamäen kartanoon on liittynyt myös monipuolista tuotantotoimintaa.

Santamäki on muodostunut vähitellen 1800-luvulla. Tila oli vanha herraskartano, jonka kantatilana oli kolmannes Seppälän säteriratsutilaa.

Hjalmar G. Paloheimo (Brander) avioitui Santamäen kartanon tyttären Elin Hernbergin kanssa 1889 ja osti samana vuonna kartanon Hernbergin perikunnalta. Paloheimon myöhemmin merkittäväksi kasvanut teollisuustoiminta sai alkunsa Santamäen kartanon yhteyteen 1890 perustetusta pienestä yksiraamisesta sahalaitoksesta. Sahojen lisäksi Paloheimo oli osakkaana Riihimäen lasitehtaassa. Myös Paloheimon tiiliteollisuus käynnistyi pienestä 1890-luvun puolivälissä Santamäen kartanoon rakennetusta tiilitehtaasta. Paloheimon teollisen toiminnan painopiste siirtyi 1900-luvun alkupuolella Lopelta enemmän Riihimäen suunnalle.

Santamäen kartanon vanhin päärakennus rakennettiin useassa eri vaiheessa 1800-luvulla, sen vanhimmat osat ovat mahdollisesti 1700-luvun puolelta. Uusi päärakennus valmistui 1894 arkkitehti H.R. Helinin piirustusten mukaan. Rakennuksen koristeellisessa julkisivussa on nähtävissä alkavan kansallisromantiikan piirteitä. Nykyiseen asuunsa rapattu tiilirakennus korjattiin 1939.

Launosten kartanoa edeltänyt Launosten kylä oli 1800-luvun loppupuolelle saakka Kerolanmäellä Pihtojan viljelylaaksossa. Mäellä oli 1539 maakirjan mukaan seitsemän taloa. Ryhmäkylä hajosi 1860-luvulla. Samalla viljelysten ympäröimällä mäellä on edelleen Launosten kartanon talouskeskus. Kartano muodostui 1680-luvulla kolmesta Göran Brünoville lahjoitetusta tilasta. Launosten kartanon myöhäistä uusklassismia edustava päärakennus valmistui 1878.

Santamäki manor is one of the small manors of Southern Häme, whose varied built environment represents several historical phases and stylistic features. Through the phases of the Paloheimo family, Santamäki manor is linked to the industrial history of the Riihimäki area.

The manor estate was built in several phases and includes, among others, three main buildings of different ages. The manor landscape of Santamäki is characterised by a well-kept park surrounded by long stone fences. To the west, the landscape of Santamäki manor merges with the fields and built environment of Launos manor.

The yard of Santatamäki has three main buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries. The buildings are associated with a park, and long birch alleys structure the landscape. The area is enclosed by a stone fence. The oldest of the outbuildings are the log-built grain storehouse and the stable, which date from the 1870s. The workers' dwellings date from the 1890s and 1910s. The yard of Kivikartano has a water tower building from the 1890s. Santamäki manor has also been home to diversified production activities.

Santamäki gradually developed in the 19th century. The property was an old gentry manor, whose original holding was a third of the Seppälä säteriratsutila.

Hjalmar G. Paloheimo (Brander) married Elin Hernberg, the daughter of Santamäki manor, in 1889 and bought the manor from the Hernberg estate in the same year. Paloheimo's industrial activity, which later grew significant, began with a small single-frame sawmill established in connection with Santamäki manor in 1890. In addition to sawmills, Paloheimo was a shareholder in the Riihimäki glass factory. Paloheimo's brick industry also started from a small brick factory built at Santamäki manor in the mid-1890s. In the early 20th century, the focus of Paloheimo's industrial activity shifted from Loppi more towards Riihimäki.

The oldest main building of Santamäki manor was built in several stages in the 19th century, and its oldest parts possibly date from the 18th century. The new main building was completed in 1894 to designs by architect H.R. Helin. The ornate façade of the building shows features of emerging National Romanticism. After the Santamäki brick factory was founded, the use of brick increased, and outbuildings and factory buildings were built of brick in connection with the manor. The newest main building was completed in 1920 to designs by architect Yrjö Sadeniemi. The brick building, now rendered in its present appearance, was renovated in 1939.

The Launoset village, which preceded Launoset manor, was located at Kerolanmäki in the Pihtoja cultivation valley until the late 19th century. According to the 1539 maakirja, the hill had seven farmsteads. The village cluster dispersed in the 1860s. Still on the hill, surrounded by fields, is the economic centre of Launoset manor. The manor was formed in the 1680s from three holdings donated to Göran Brünoville. The main building of Launoset manor, representing late neoclassicism, was completed in 1878.
