The Finnish Heritage Agency's description

Hinthaaran rautatieasema on Porvoo-Kerava-yksityisradan hyvin säilynyt asemakokonaisuus.

Hinthaaran kartano antoi leimansa Hinthaaran maatalouskylälle rautatien rakentamiseen asti.

Hinthaara railway station is a well-preserved station complex of the Porvoo-Kerava private railway.

The station lies in the middle of a built-up area that grew out of a station village, at the fork of the historic Suuri Rantatie, which follows the Mustijoki, and Pornaisten tie. In accordance with the basic type of the Porvoo-Kerava railway, the station has a station building housing the stationmaster's residence, an outbuilding, a sauna and a goods storehouse.

The building permit for the private railway between Porvoo and Kerava was granted in 1871, and a joint-stock company was founded in 1872 to build it. The line was connected to the Helsinki-Hämeenlinna line in 1875.

Hinthaara manor set its stamp on the Hinthaara farming village until the railway was built. After that, the station area became an important centre for the surrounding villages and for part of Pornainen parish. A leather factory and a dairy were established in Hinthaara, and by the early 20th century it had become a typical station and factory community, with shops and an elementary school.
