Kuvaus
Loimaan rautatieaseman kokonaisuus edustaa 1870-luvulla rakennetun Turku-Tampere radan väliasemaa, jonka kokonaisuuteen kuuluu rataosuudellaan arkkitehtuuriltaan poikkeuksellisen uusrenessanssiaseman lisäksi tavaramakasiini, vesitorni, asuinrakennuksia talousrakennuksineen sekä asema-aluetta rajaava asemapuisto.
Turku-Tampere -radan asema Loimaalla (ent. Loimijoki) on Parolan lisäksi rataosan ainoa säilynyt III luokan asema. Uusrenessanssityylinen asemarakennus poikkeaa arkkitehtuuriltaan rataosan muista asemista ja enteilee muutamaa vuotta myöhemmin suunniteltua Vaasan radan asema-arkkitehtuuria. Molempien ratojen tyyppipiirustusten tekijänä pidetään C.A. Edelfeltin oppilasta ja seuraajaa Knut Nylanderia.
Uusrenessanssia edustavan aseman julkisivun seinäpinnat on jaettu listoituksin kenttiin ja ikkunoiden yllä on sorvauskoristelua. Aikoinaan useita palkintoja asemien välisissä puutarhakilpailuissa voittaneen asemapuiston puoleisella julkisivulla on puuleikkauksin koristettu avokuisti. Asema-alueen eteläpäässä on kaksi kaksoisvahtitupaa.
Historia

Description
The Loimaa railway station complex represents an intermediate station on the Turku-Tampere line built in the 1870s. Its ensemble includes, in addition to the station building, which is architecturally exceptional on its line section, a goods storehouse, a water tower, residential buildings with outbuildings, and a station park bounding the station area.
Apart from Parola, the Loimaa station (formerly Loimijoki) on the Turku-Tampere line is the only surviving class III station on its line section. The neo-Renaissance station building differs architecturally from the other stations on the line section and foreshadows the station architecture of the Vaasa line, designed a few years later. The designer of the standard drawings for both lines is considered to be Knut Nylander, a pupil and successor of C.A. Edelfelt.
The wall surfaces of the facade of the neo-Renaissance station are divided into fields by mouldings, and above the windows there is turned ornamentation. On the facade facing the station park, which once won several prizes in inter-station garden competitions, there is an open veranda decorated with fretwork. In addition to the station building, the Loimaa station complex includes a goods storehouse to its north, a water tower located further away, and the station master's house with its outbuildings. At the southern end of the station area there are two double guard houses.
History
The extension northwards and westwards from Hämeenlinna of the line between Helsinki and Hämeenlinna, the first line in our country, completed in 1862, was initially planned with private resources and forces, based mainly on Russian financing. After the projects failed, the Senate decided in 1874 to revoke the concession it had granted and to have the line built with state funds according to the route decided in 1872.
The line between Tampere and Turku, connecting the inland with the coast, was built in 1875-1876. The office of the fourth building district was placed in the village of Vesikoski in Loimaa, where the line's second class III station was also placed. The station building was completed in 1876; the goods storehouse, the station master's house and the second of the double guard houses were completed in 1898. The water tower and a second residential building were built in 1920 and 1929. Loimaa was still planned as a junction station in the 1950s, but the line from the capital through Loimaa to Satakunta was never built.
