The Finnish Heritage Agency's description

Asunnan asema-alue on tyypillinen pieni maalaisasema; sen hyvin säilynyt, yhtenäinen rakennuskanta on rataosuuden valmistumisajalta, 1890-luvun lopulta.

Pysäkkirakennuksen ja tavaramakasiinin lisäksi asemalla on yksinkertainen vahtitupa ja asiaan kuuluvat talousrakennukset, kellari ja sauna. Asema-alueella on poikkeuksellisen komea puusto.

Radan eteläpuolella Asuntajärven rannalla on pumppuaseman hoitajan asunto, joka on kesäasuntona. Vähän erillään asemasta on vesitorni.

Vaasan ja Savon radat yhdistävän poikkiradan Haapamäki-Jyväskylä -rataosuus valmistui 1897. Asemapiirustukset olivat rataosuudella pääasiassa arkkitehti Bruno Granholmin tekemiä.

The Asunta station area is a typical small rural station; its well-preserved, uniform building stock dates from the completion of the line section, from the end of the 1890s.

In addition to the halt building and goods storehouse, the station has a simple watchman's cottage and the outbuildings, cellar and sauna appropriate to it. The station area has an exceptionally fine stand of trees.

On the south side of the line, on the shore of Asuntajärvi, is the dwelling of the pumping station attendant, which is used as a summer residence. A water tower stands a little apart from the station.

The Haapamäki-Jyväskylä section of the cross line connecting the Vaasa and Savo lines was completed in 1897. Station drawings on the line section were mainly made by architect Bruno Granholm.
