Kuvaus
Panttilan kylässä on edustavia talonpoikaisia pihapiirejä komeine pohjalaistaloineen sekä maaseudun varhaista teollisuutta edustava Kurikan lakkitehtaan alue moderneine teollisuusrakennuksineen. Kurikan lakkitehdas on ollut aikanaan tuotannostaan tunnettu, suhteellisen suurin alan tuotantolaitos.
Panttila on tiivis kylä Kyrönjokilaakson maisema-alueella.
Luoman rannalla on Kurikan Lakkitehtaan alue, jossa 1928 rakennettu vanha tehdas ja arkkitehti Aarne Ervin 1938 suunnittelema tehdasrakennus muodostavat yhtenäisen seinämän luoman suuntaan.
Viime sotien aikana tehdas vaatetti Suomen armeijaa. Halpatuonnin ja kiristyneen kilpailun vuoksi lakkitehdas lopetti toimintansa 1975.

Description
Panttila village has representative farmyards of peasant origin with splendid Ostrobothnian houses, as well as the Kurikka cap factory area, representing early rural industry, with its modern industrial buildings. The Kurikka cap factory was in its day known for its production, and was relatively the largest production plant in its sector.
Panttila is a compact village in the Kyrönjoki valley landscape area. The village has formed at the junction of the road from Koskenkorva to Kurikka and the deep-channelled Nenättömänluoma stream, which flows into the Kyrönjoki.
Old peasant building tradition is found above all on the holdings of Koivisto, Iso-Koivisto, Koski-Koivisto and Latva-Koivisto, and in the farmyards of Rinta-Hirvelä, Latva-Hirvelä and Keski-Panttila. The village shops are concentrated along the road on the south side of the stream.
On the bank of the stream is the Kurikan Lakkitehdas area, where the old factory built in 1928 and the factory building designed by architect Aarne Ervi in 1938 form a continuous wall facing the stream. The factory director's residences designed by Ervi in 1939 and 1941 are in the park sloping down to the stream.
History
The Kurikka area on the upper reaches of the Kyrönjoki received its first houses in the 1400s. In the village of Nenättömä, which is now within the Panttila area, there were already 12 houses in the 1560s.
The cap factory began operating in Panttila village in 1899. The factory was built at the beginning of the 20th century on the Koski-Koivisto holding. In the 1930s the Kurikka cap factory was one of Finland's largest clothing factories, and at its peak it employed 300 people. During the last wars the factory clothed the Finnish army. Due to cheap imports and intensified competition, the cap factory ceased operations in 1975.
