The Finnish Heritage Agency's description

Koveron kruununmetsätorppa on kertova esimerkki Pirkanmaan metsäseutujen asuttamisesta 1800-luvun lopulla.

Hänen aikanaan tilalle rakennettiin uusi komea pirtti.

Tilan kukoistuskautta olivat 1900-luvun alkuvuosikymmenet Ananias Koveron aikana. Kovero lunasti torpan valtiolta 1931.

Koveron kruununmetsätorppa is an illustrative example of the settlement of forest districts in Pirkanmaa at the end of the 19th century.

Now located in Seitsemisen kansallispuisto, Koveron kruununmetsätorppa was a typical rented holding on state land. The Koveron kruununmetsätorppa, established in the mid-19th century, retains buildings that are partly original: the croft (torppa), pakari, and cattle and grain shelters. Outbuildings that once belonged to the yard but were destroyed have been replaced by similar buildings moved from the surrounding area.

The holding has been restored and furnished to its 1930s appearance, the period that was the heyday of Koveron.

The residents of the fertile lakeside villages of Ikaalinen made use of the Seitseminen area for hunting and gathering. Sparse settlement in the remote backcountry became established only in the 19th century, with the founding of crown forest crofts.

A farmhand from Nisula farm built a croft on the site in the mid-19th century, and Kovero crown forest croft was officially established in 1859. The croft was sold in 1878 to Matti Liesijärvi, who began to use the surname Kovero, after the farm. During his time, a new, handsome pirtti was built on the holding.

The heyday of the holding was the early decades of the 20th century, during the time of Ananias Kovero. Kovero redeemed the croft from the state in 1931. The holding remained inhabited until the late 1960s and passed back to the state when Metsähallitus bought it in 1970. The fields were afforested, and the buildings were left empty.

Kovero was incorporated into Seitseminen National Park when the park was established in 1982. Under Metsähallitus, the holding was restored as faithfully as possible to the appearance of 1930s horse farming, and it began to be maintained by traditional methods.
