The Finnish Heritage Agency's description

Lähteenmäen torppa on aikanaan yleisen torppa-asutuksen tyypillinen edustaja. Umpipihainen kokonaisuus on hyvin säilynyt.

Päärakennus on paritupatyyppiä. Pihaa reunustavat vanha luhti, sikala, navetta- ja tallirakennus Läpiajettava tallirakennus toimii porttina pihaan. Pihapiirin ulkopuolella sijaitsevat aitta, ratashuone, liiteri, sauna sekä paja. Rakennukset ovat vuoraamattomia.

Osa Kiikoisista, erityisesti Kiikoisten läntiset osat asutettiin enimmäkseen Kiikan eli Äetsän suunnasta. Lähteenmäki oli Kiikan pitäjän Vakkalan kylän Hiturin perintötalon torppa.

Torppa itsenäistyi torpparilain mukaisesti 1921. Tilalla asuttiin aina 1990-luvulle saakka.

In its time, Lähteenmäki croft was a typical example of general croft settlement. The closed-yard complex is well preserved.

The croft, which belongs to Vakkala village, is situated at the edge of the forest behind the field clearing of Raudu village. The building group consists of the main building and luhti of the men's yard, and the animal shelters of the cattle yard. The men's yard and the cattle yard were previously separated by a pole fence. The main building is of the paritupa type. The yard is bordered by the old luhti, a pigsty, and a cowshed and stable building. The drive-through stable building serves as the gateway into the yard. Outside the yard area are the granary storehouse, ratashuone, woodshed, sauna and smithy. The buildings are unclad.

Part of Kiikoinen, especially the western parts of Kiikoinen, was settled mostly from the direction of Kiikka, or Äetsä. Lähteenmäki was a croft of the Hituri inherited farm in Vakkala village in Kiikka parish.

The croft became independent under the Crofters Act in 1921. The holding was inhabited until the 1990s.
