The Finnish Heritage Agency's description

Luopioisten syrjäisen torppaseudun Raiskio on aikanaan yleisen torppa-asutuksen tyypillinen, mutta harvinaistunut edustaja.

Raiskion torppa sijaitsee Ämmätsäjärven pohjoispohjukassa mäenrinteessä. Runsaiden kivikautisten löytöjen perusteella alue on ollut suotuisaa asuinaluetta jo esihistoriallisena aikana.

Raiskion torpan pihapiiri koostuu harmaista, vuoraamattomista, pääasiassa pärekattoisista hirsirakennuksista. Taloryhmä muodostaa asuinpihan ja talouspihan, joihin kuuluvat päärakennus, pakari, joka on entinen savutupa, vanha savutupa, savusauna, keittokota, vinttikaivo, talli, navetta, neljä aittaa, halkovaja ja kolme latoa sekä riihi. Piha on jaettu aitaamalla. Raiskion aitat on siirretty paikalliseen kotiseutumuseoon ja alkuperäiselle paikalle on pystytetty niiden kopiot. Raiskion päärakennus muodostuu kahdesta eri-ikäisestä rakennuksesta: vanhempi osa, entinen savupirtti, on mahdollisesti 1600-luvulta, uudempi osa 1700-luvulta. Välissä on porstua ja peräkamari.

Raiskion torpan maat raivattiin tiettömän taipaleen taakse Ämmätsäjärven ranta-alueelle 1500-luvun lopulla. Raiskion torppa itsenäistyi 1919 Kantolan kartanosta ja Raiskiossa asuttiin 1960-luvun lopulle asti. Torpasta kuljettiin alun perin pääasiassa vesiteitse, ja maantieyhteytenä toimi 1950-luvulle saakka yli kilometrin mittainen kivinen polku.

Raiskio, in the remote croft district of Luopioinen, is a typical example of general croft settlement that was once common but is now a rare representative.

Raiskio croft is located on a hillside at the northern tip of Ämmätsäjärvi. Abundant Stone Age finds show that the area was a favourable place to live already in prehistoric times.

The Raiskio croft yard consists of grey, unlined, mainly pärekatto-roofed log buildings. The farm group forms a residential yard and a farmyard, comprising the main building; pakari, a former smoke cabin; an old smoke cabin; a smoke sauna; a cookhouse; a windlass well (vinttikaivo); a stable; a cowshed; four granary storehouses; a woodshed; three barns; and a threshing barn. The yard is divided by fencing. The Raiskio granaries have been moved to the local heritage museum, and copies of them have been erected on the original site.

The Raiskio main building consists of two buildings of different ages: the older part, a former smoke cottage (savupirtti), is possibly from the 17th century, and the newer part is from the 18th century. Between them are a vestibule (porstua) and a peräkamari.

The lands of Raiskio croft were cleared at the end of the 16th century on the shore of Ämmätsäjärvi, beyond a roadless stretch. Raiskio croft became independent in 1919 from Kantola manor, and people lived at Raiskio until the late 1960s. Originally the croft was reached mainly by water, and until the 1950s the land connection was a stony footpath more than a kilometre long.
