Erkkilän mylly, entisen Tynin tilan myllyn hirsikerrassa on vuosiluku 1768. Mylly rakennettiin uudelleen 1811 ja siirrettiin nykyiselle paikalleen 1975. Granlundin myllyn siipitukissa on vuosiluku 1809. Kyrön mylly lienee peräisin 1832-1837 väliseltä ajalta. Penttilän myllyn hirsikehään on veistetty vuosiluvut 1862 ja 1870.

On the Lumijoki plain at Lapinkylä there are four windmills, which represent a building type that was common in the area in the 19th century but has almost disappeared.

Of the windmills that characterised the farming landscape and were very numerous in the 19th century, only a few have survived, even fewer have been restored, and many of those are in museum areas.

The Penttilä, Erkkilä, Granlund and Kyrö mills, located close to one another, are so-called post mills. The restored mills serve as landmarks. The mill machinery has survived.

From the 19th century onwards there were many windmills in the small-rapids coastal villages of Liminka parish. Almost every larger farm had its own windmill for grinding flour. Windmills were most numerous in the 19th century, but they declined rapidly once steam mills became common.

The date 1768 is carved on the log course of the Erkkilä mill, the mill of the former Tyni farm. The mill was rebuilt in 1811 and moved to its present site in 1975. The date 1809 is on the wing support of the Granlund mill. Kyrö mill probably dates from the period 1832-1837. The dates 1862 and 1870 are carved into the log frame of the Penttilä mill.
