Kuvaus
Historia
Kyläkeskuksen länsipuolella on koivukujan päässä Ranttila, jonka päärakennus on rakennettu 1870-luvulla. Yli-Tuomolan päärakennus on vuodelta 1869. Nykyinen kylätalo, ns. Iisakin kirkko rakennettiin 1926 rukoushuoneeksi. Rakennus kunnostettiin perusteellisesti 2000-luvun vaihteessa. Mylläri (Kanta-Laurila) siirrettiin ensin sahan yhteyteen ja 1900-luvun vaihteessa nykyiselle paikalle kylän itäosaan.

Description
Teuro group village is a village type typical of Tavastia Proper, which arose at the latest in the Middle Ages along a transport route, at a water crossing point. Teuro is still a well-preserved, compact and unified group village, surrounded by fields that have been cultivated for a long time. The village's present, well-preserved building stock dates mainly from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Teuro group village is located in the northern part of Tammela municipality, at the junction of the Teuronjoki river and the road leading north from Tammela, on the north-eastern slope of the Pyhäjärvi-Kuivajärvi lowland.
The farmyards of Ali-Tuomola, Ali- and Yli-Lekkala farms are on the old village site on the bank of the Teuronjoki, on either side of the road that serves as the village street, and form a compact street view. Yli-Tuomola, Ranssila and Rekola farms are located in the immediate vicinity of the village centre. Along the road, in addition to the housing, there is a school (1896) and a village hall (1926).
History
The choice of the village site at Teuro in the Middle Ages was influenced by the arable land on the northeast side of the river and by a fordable river crossing at the site of the present bridge. In the 1540s Teuro had five farms: Rekola, Ranttila and Tuomola, formerly Nopola, Mylläri and Lekkala. The village burned almost entirely in 1756, but was rebuilt on the riverbank on both sides of the bridge. Of the farms, Tuomola moved away from the village cluster. In the 17th century Tuomola was a rustholli, and in the 18th century Rekola was the official farm of a sergeant of the Uudenmaan jalkaväkirykmentti. Mylläri served as a coaching inn in the 18th century, and Yli-Lekkala in the 1870s.
A sawmill was established at Murronkoski in Teuro in 1802. Together with the Great Partition (1786) and its supplementary partition (1855), it started a lively period of development in the village. Parent farms were divided, and some farms moved away from the village plot, which had become cramped.
The village's Jugend-style shop building was built in 1906. West of the village centre, at the end of a birch avenue, is Ranttila, whose main building was built in the 1870s. The main building of Yli-Tuomola dates from 1869. The present village hall, the so-called Iisakin kirkko, was built in 1926 as a prayer house. The building was thoroughly renovated at the turn of the 21st century. Mylläri (Kanta-Laurila) was first moved to the vicinity of the sawmill and, at the turn of the 20th century, to its present site in the eastern part of the village.
