Kuvaus
Unajan kylän tielinjaus, maatilojen rakennukset ja mäkirinteen pienasumukset kuvastavat rannikolle muodostuneen kyläkokonaisuuden kehitystä.
Unajan kyläasutus on asettunut tiiviisti Unajanlahden pohjukkaan, vanhan maantien varrelle.
Mäenrinteessä oleva Takalan tila on rakennettu lähes umpipihan muotoon, päärakennus on 1850-luvulta. Rantalan päärakennus on 1800-luvun alkupuolelta ja luhti 1850-luvulta. Unajan nuorisoseuran rakentama seurantalo rakennettu 1912 ja laajennettu 1950- ja 1970-luvulla.
Unajanjoen yli johtaa 1800-luvulla rakennettu kaksiaukkoinen kivisilta lähellä Unajan keskiaikaista satamapaikkaa. Kylän eteläpuolella mäkeä ylöspäin mentäessä asutus muuttuu pienijakoisemmaksi. Mäen laella olevan Unajan kansakoulu valmistui 1893. Valtatie jakaa Unajan kulttuurimaiseman kahtia.
Historia
Unajan kylän asutus on peräisin varhaiskeskiajalta.

Description
The road alignment of Unaja village, the farm buildings and the small-scale dwellings on the hillside reflect the development of the village complex that formed on the coast.
Unaja village settlement is compactly located at the head of Unajanlahti bay, along the old main road. The village fields lie on the plain divided by the Unajanjoki, bounded by wooded rocky hills.
The best-preserved buildings in the village are the building groups of Takala, Rantala, Tupala, Lähtelä, Pukkala and Helo. The Takala farm, on a hillside, is built in an almost closed-courtyard form; its main building dates from the 1850s. The main building of Rantala dates from the early 19th century and the luhti from the 1850s. The community hall built by the Unaja youth association was completed in 1912 and extended in the 1950s and 1970s.
Across the Unajanjoki runs a two-span stone bridge built in the 19th century, near Unaja's medieval harbour site. South of the village, going up the hill, the settlement becomes more finely divided. The Unaja kansakoulu on top of the hill was completed in 1893. The trunk road divides the Unaja cultural landscape in two.
History
Settlement in the village of Unaja dates from the Early Middle Ages. In the early modern period, in the 1560s, the village had fifteen farms. In the Middle Ages the village lay on the shore of Unajanlahti bay, and the village had a harbour. It has also been suggested that Unaja was a predecessor of the town of Rauma. Rauma appears in some sources under the name Unio, and in the 1540s burghers of Rauma owned half of the village of Unaja.
