Kuvaus
Kylässä on säilynyt tilojen lisäksi mökkiasutusta. Kylän koulurakennus on valmistunut 1900.
Historia
Raijalan kylä on varhaiskeskiaikainen.

Description
Raijala is a village of medieval origin, whose farms are concentrated on the old village site. It is a representative example of a Satakunta agricultural village and landscape in the Kokemäenjoki Valley, to which the Raijala lake, north of the village site and drained from the 19th century onwards, gives an additional historical perspective.
The farms of Raijala village are concentrated on the village site along the old road leading from Huittinen to Pori. The residential sites along the road on the western side of the village have been in use since the 18th century. The new Helsinki-Pori main road now separates the farm centres from their field landscape, which spreads widely to the north on both sides of the Raijalanoja brook.
The most notable individual features of the village are the farmstead building groups of Mattila, Heikkilä, Uusi-Perttula, Kylä-Laurila and Pelto-Laurila, with their well-maintained buildings and yard areas. The main buildings are mainly in the style of the late 19th or early 20th century, reflecting the prosperity of the farmers at that time. In addition to the farms, cottage settlement has survived in the village. The village school building was completed in 1900.
History
Raijala village dates from the early Middle Ages. In the 1560s the village had five farms. The village was located separately from the rest of the settlement along the Kokemäenjoki river.
The road from Huittinen to Pori, which ran through the village, was in use already in the 18th century. The village mill was on the upper reaches of the Kohijoki, which flows into the Kokemäenjoki. In the 18th century the village's fields lay around the village, and to the south there was already a large open field.
Cultivated land was increased by draining Raijala lake, which lay north of the village. Drainage work began in the 19th century. In 1939 the Vesistötoimikunta issued a decision on dyking the Raijala lake meadow. Cultivation of the area began in 1942.
