The Finnish Heritage Agency's description

Nikolan talossa on Pohjois-Pohjanmaan jokilaaksojen suurille talonpoikaistaloille tyypillinen, hyvin säilynyt umpipiha.

Nikolan talo kuuluu Ylipään kylään. Siikajoen länsitörmällä sijaitsevan talouskeskuksen ympärillä on laajat peltoaukeat.

Nikolan umpipihan muodostavat joen suuntainen pitkä päärakennus, kaksikerroksinen talli, L-kirjaimen muotoinen tiilinavetta, meijeri, maitohuone, pikkupuoji sekä päärakennuksen linjaan lisätyt sauna ja kaksi aittaa. Pihapiirin ulkopuolella on vanhoja aittoja ja vajoja. Päärakennus on vuorattu 1800-luvun lopun tapaan, muut rakennukset ovat hirsipintaisia.

Siikajoen Nikolan tila on ollut samalla suvulla 1730-luvulta lähtien. Nikolan päärakennus valmistui 1873. Päärakennuksen pohjoispuolella olevalla pikkupuolella toimi kansakoulu 1920-luvulla. Navetta valmistui 1911.

The Nikola farm has a well-preserved closed courtyard typical of the large farmhouses of the river valleys of North Ostrobothnia.

The Nikola farm belongs to the village of Ylipää. The farmstead, situated on the western bank of the Siikajoki, is surrounded by extensive open fields.

The closed courtyard of Nikola is formed by a long main building running parallel to the river, a two-storey stable, an L-shaped brick cowshed, a dairy, a milk house, a small outbuilding (pikkupuoji), and a sauna and two granaries added in line with the main building. Outside the courtyard there are old granaries and sheds. The main building is clad in the manner of the late 19th century; the other buildings have log-faced exteriors.

The Nikola estate in Siikajoki has been in the same family since the 1730s. The main building of Nikola was completed in 1873. The small outbuilding to the north of the main building housed a kansakoulu in the 1920s. The cowshed was completed in 1911.
