Kuvaus
Museotie on mutkittelevan linjauksensa säilyttänyt, noin 12 kilometriä pitkä tieosuus Saahkarista Myhinpäähän. Tie kulkee etupäässä metsäisessä maastossa. Museotien maisema on valtakunnallisesti arvokas maisemanähtävyys.
Historia
Suoloveden kylän asukkaat anoivat 1855 ratsutien tekoa. He lupasivat tehdä tien Myhinpäähän asti ja toivoivat ihalaiskyläläisten jatkavan sitä edelleen Rautalammille. Samat kyläläiset anoivat 1875 maantien rakentamista Rautalammilta Pieksämäen pitäjän rajalle. Vasta 1900 päätettiin tie pohjata ja soraistaa. Tien suunta aiheutti riitoja ja lopullinen päätös kylätien laajentamisesta maantieksi tehtiin 1909.

Description
The Saahkari-Myhinpää road is one of the museum roads that the Finnish Road Administration has selected to illustrate the history of road building in Finland. It gives a good impression of the form and geometry of Finland's main roads still at the beginning of the 20th century.
The main road between Toholahti and Hankavesi was built at the beginning of the 20th century. The museum road has retained its winding alignment, a section of road about 12 kilometres long from Saahkari to Myhinpää. The road runs mainly through forested terrain. The landscape of the museum road is a nationally valuable scenic attraction.
History
The residents of the village of Suolovesi applied in 1855 for the construction of a bridle path. They promised to build the road as far as Myhinpää and hoped that the people of Ihalaiskylä would continue it further on to Rautalampi. The same villagers applied in 1875 for the building of a main road from Rautalampi to the border of Pieksämäki parish. Only in 1900 was it decided to lay a foundation for the road and gravel it. The course of the road caused disputes, and the final decision to widen the village road into a main road was made in 1909.
